What is the best monthly SEO report format ? 

Uh-huh this is one of the most commonly encountered question by SEO team, that has quite vague answer.

Since weekly/monthly reports are considered as a means of showing your work update on your client’s business, it(report) cannot be taken lightly. It has been observed that all SEO agencies have different SEO report formats. 

Well it really all depends on your client’s SEO goals and also on how much sense actual report makes to your client.

Improved results , rankings , traffic and other such important Key performance indicators (KPI) should be included in monthly reports to convey the progress by SEO.

So, in order to find out what is working substantially and further where your efforts are to be centred, following metrics from different tools should be included in your monthly reports –

A ) Ranking Report

At the end of the month, we should track and summarize the search engine position and your site rankings. 

Check to see whether or not your client’s online site rate has been improved or not.

3>     Acquisition -> This report in Google Analytics can be used to find out the information on how users come to your website.

 1)  Search Analytics report mainly shows you how often your client’s site appears in search results. Include entire screen print of search report in your monthly report.

2)  Links Your Site metric in Webmaster Tools shows which domain links most to your client’s site, along with your client’s most linked content.




3)  Total Backlinks Report

It’s important to analyse backlinks as they greatly influence site’s SERP ranking and increase in traffic.

In your Google Webmaster Tool, on the left side of your dashboard Search Traffic-> Links to Your Site.

You can Download the results of “Who links the most ” and “Your most linked content” and merge this with your report.
